Oct. 3, 2014 - The first of two weekend matches for the Concordia-Chicago Cougars saw the host Concordia Wisconsin Falcons soar to a three-set victory in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. The Falcons' 25-15, 25-14, 25-12 victory improved them to 15-4 overall, 4-0 in the NACC while the Cougars fell to 4-15, 1-2 NACC.
A look at the hitting stats told the tale of tonight's match. The Falcons recorded 45 kills against just three errors (.494) including a third set in which they hit .571 on their 17 kills. By contrast, the Cougars had 26 kills for the match but were guilty of 18 hitting errors for a mark of .091.
Kaylyn Anderson (East Chicago, IN/Whiting) led the Cougars with nine kills, followed by
Raven Burns (Shorewood, IL/Minooka) with six. The defense was led by
Olivia Friedrichs (San Diego, CA/Clairemont)Â with nine digs and
Allison Back (LaPorte, IN/Marquette Catholic)Â with eight.
The Cougars will return home to host the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday night at 6:00.
