Jan. 30, 2013 - The Concordia University Chicago women's basketball team became the thirteenth conquest of Northern Athletics Conference leader Wisconsin Lutheran College tonight at Geiseman Gymnasium. Leaders of the NAC South Division, the Warriors maintained their perfect conference record and improved to 18-2 overall with a 79-37 rout of the Cougars.

Concordia looked for Jessica Genke (Kiel, WI/H.S.) in the opening minutes, and the junior forward scored the Cougars' first four points. Wisconsin Lutheran led 7-4 when consecutive threes by Alyssa Allister and Rachel Hoft ignited the visitors' attack. The Cougars were unable to keep pace as they missed nine of their first 11 field goal tries and six of their 13 free throws in the half. Genke finished with a 12-point half, but Wisconsin Lutheran shot 41 percent from the field and made good on five of 10 threes in holding a 34-19 lead at the break.

Krystyna Rickett (Sandusky, MI/H.S.) scored Concordia's first five points of the second half as the home team looked to generate a comeback. But the Warriors answered with a 15-2 run over the next four minutes to bump the lead up to 25.

The Warriors' Shavon Dillon led all scorers with 18 points while also adding nine rebounds and six assists. Allister and Carrie Thoma were in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Kristen Schulz, the Warriors' 6'3" center scored eight points to go with nine rebounds and six blocks.

Genke's 12 points led the Cougars. She was followed by April Broska (New Boston, MI/Lutheran South) with eight.

Concordia (7-14, 7-6 NAC) will play at Marian University on Saturday as part of a doubleheader.
