Oct. 16, 2012 - The host Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors handed the Concordia Cougars their eighth straight setback on Tuesday night in volleyball action at WLC's Recreation Center. The Warriors edged out the Cougars in two close sets (25-22 and 25-23) before pulling away with a decisive 25-15 win in set three.
Concordia's best hitting came in set one with a .222 attack percentage (12 kills, 6 errors in 27 tries). However, the percentage decreased to .167 (14-8-36) in set two and .031 (9-8-32) in set three. Wisconsin Lutheran's best hitting came in the middle set when they recorded a .267 (10-2-30). Their attack fell only slightly in set three with a .241 (11-4-29).

Claire Mackey (Shelton, NE/Heartland Lutheran) recorded a team-high 16 kills and hit .265 on the evening.
Bianca Gordon (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Lutheran) snapped off 13 kills (.308) and added one solo block and two block assists. Setter
Jenna Boggs (South Beloit, IL/Hononegah) handed out 33 assists while
Maryl Pinotti (Evergreen Park, IL/H.S.) chalked up 10 digs.
Kelli Johnson of the Warriors led all hitters with a .524 on 12 kills on 21 attempts (one error). Johnson was also strong at the net with one solo block and five block assists. Erin Greenfield added 11 kills and two blocks.
The Cougars (4-16, 2-8 NAC) return to the Milwaukee area on Friday night when theu play at Concordia University Wisconsin.
