Oct. 13, 2012 - The Concordia Cougar volleyball traveled to North Park University in Chicago this afternoon, hoping that a non-conference victory would give them some momentum as they prepare for the home stretch of the Northern Athletics Conference schedule. However, the Vikings unleashed a .288 hitting attack on the Cougars in winning the match 25-17, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-21.
Claire Mackey (Shelton, NE/Heartland Lutheran) led the Cougars with 12 kills while
Bianca Gordon (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Lutheran) added 11 kills in 19 attempts with just one error for a .526 attack.
Cheryl Robaczewski (Schiller Park, IL/East Leyden) recorded 10 kills for the second consecutive match while freshman
Kristin Allen (Green Valley, IL/Illini Central) made it four Cougars with double-digit kills as she recorded 10 also. However, the team hit just .210 collectively.
Jazmin Caleb led North Park with 15 kills and a .355 hitting percentage. Shelby Switzer produced 13 kills and a .250 while Tara Spell added nine kills and a .615. The Vikings finished with 48 kills against just 16 errors in 111 attempts.
The Cougars (4-15) will travel to Milwaukee on Tuesday, Oct. 16 for a match at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
