Sept. 7, 2011 - The Concordia volleyball Cougars lost to Augustana College Wednesday night in three sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-19) at Carver Arena. The loss dropped the Cougars to 1-3 on the season.
Concordia got off to a promising start in set one, leading 16-11 before the hosts regrouped. According to head coach Kathy Gebhardt, "we hurt ourselves with some bad serves; I think that five of our 10 serving errors came in the first set. Also, our passing and setting were not at their best tonight, and we were unable to set up our hitters for quality kill chances." As a result, the Cougars hit just .113 for the night on 25 kills.
Concordia will play four matches this weekend at North Park University's tournament. The Cougars begin with host North Park and North Central on Friday afternoon.
