Issa Avery (Evanston, IL) of the men’s basketball team is honored for the week of Nov. 21-27.
           
Avery poured in 21 points on 8-14 shooting from the field (1-3 from three-point range) and 4-5 from the free throw line in the Cougar men’s Northern Athletics Conference opener against Concordia University Wisconsin Nov. 26. The 6’5” forward also led the Cougars with seven rebounds and added one assist and two blocks in 35 minutes of play. He leads the team through four games with 18.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
           
Avery, the son of Derwin Avery and Karen Mosby-Avery, is a 2008 graduate of St. Benedict High School in Chicago. He is a senior exercise science major.
