Chris Decker (Ocala, Fla.) of the football team is honored for the week of Nov. 7-13.
Decker, a starting linebacker for the Cougar football team, made a huge contribution on special teams in Concordia’s 42-14 win over Aurora University Nov. 12. He answered a third-quarter Aurora touchdown by fielding an onside kick and racing 55 yards for a touchdown. The score put Concordia up 35-7 and stole the momentum that the hosts had generated briefly. Decker also recorded nine tackles and a fumble recovery in leading the Cougars to the win that clinched a share of the Northern Athletics Conference championship.
Decker, the son of Brian and Diana Taylor, is a 2007 graduate of St. John Lutheran High School in Ocala, Fla. He is a senior biology major.
