Claire Mackey (Shelton, Neb.) of the volleyball team are honored for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6.

Mackey recorded team-highs of 15 kills (.244) and 13 digs in the Cougar volleyball team’s four-set loss to Edgewood College in the first round of the Northern Athletics Conference tournament Nov. 1. The outside hitter led the way during a key stretch in set three where she served six straight points and later notched a kill for the Cougars’ 27th point in a set they won 28-26. Mackey’s effort was her eighth double-double of the season in kills and digs, and she finished second on the team with season totals of 238 kills and 232 digs.

Mackey, the daughter of Tom and Shirley Mackey, is a 2009 graduate of Heartland Lutheran High School in Shelton, Neb. She is a junior marketing and business management major.
