Christian Sorensen (Berwyn, IL) of the men’s cross country team is honored for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
           
Sorensen turned in his best 8K run of the season at the Oct. 1 Warrior Invitational in Milwaukee. He finished 19th overall among 115 runners with a time of 27:56.88. Sorensen’s time bettered his previous-best time of 2011 (Sept. 9 at Aurora) by 24 seconds and last week’s result at the Griak Invitational (University of Minnesota) by 56 seconds. His effort helped the Cougar men finish fourth out of 15 teams.

Sorensen, the son of Robert and Maritza Sorensen, is a 2010 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Ill. He is a sophomore English major.
