James Pierce (Philadelphia, Pa.) of the men’s track team is honored for the week of April 25-May 1.

Pierce led the Cougar men to a seventh place finish out of 16 teams in the April 29 Twilight Invitational at Benedictine University. He ran the 100-meter dash in 11.24 seconds for a third-place finish out of 33 runners. Pierce ran the race again as the first leg of the 4 x 100-meter relay, and he contributed to the team finishing third with a time of 51.68 seconds, just .54 seconds shy of their record time from earlier this season.
  

Pierce, the son of James Pierce Jr. and Betty Hayes, is a 2009 graduate of Marple-Newtown High School in Newtown Square, Pa. He is a sophomore marketing major.
