Marche Smith (Oak Park, IL) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Feb. 14-20.

Smith led the Cougar women to two wins in the final week of the season. She posted 18 points and seven rebounds in the Feb. 15 win over Aurora and 30 points, 10 rebounds in the Feb. 19 win over Alverno. In the latter game, she surpassed Concordia men’s career leader Wayne Hesse and his 1,892 points to become the leading scorer in school basketball history. Smith finished her career with 1,917 points.

Smith, the daughter of Charles Bolden and Charlette Smith, is a 2007 graduate of Trinity High School in River Forest. She is a senior sports management major.
