Rebekah Hanagan (Libertyville, IL) of the women’s cross-country team is honored for the week of Nov. 7-13.
Hanagan ran her best race of the season at the NCAA III Midwest Regionals on Nov. 12. Her 29:22.3 bettered her previous best time this year by 25 seconds. “Rebekah had to battle a health issue that came up just before we started preseason,” said CUC head coach Dave Risch. “It set her back from the beginning of the season, but she has done a great job working through the situation, and the fact that she had her best performance in this final meet showed how hard she has worked.” Hanagan is planning to student-teach next fall, leading Risch to say that, “If this was Rebekah’s final collegiate race, she goes out in a great way.”
???????Hanagan, the daughter of Ted and Lisa Hanagan, is a 2014 graduate of Libertyville High School in Libertyville, IL. She is a senior education/math major.
