Thomas McNamara (Decatur, IN) of the cross-country team is honored for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
McNamara led the CUC men in the 8K at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships on Sept. 30. He beat his previous best time from Sept. 10 by six seconds, recording a 27:28.6 to finish 41st overall out of 216 runners. “Thomas had a tough race last week but showed what he had learned from that. I look forward to seeing his continued progress throughout his first season,” said cross-country head coach Dave Risch.
McNamara, the son of Patrick and Shannon McNamara, is a 2016 graduate of Bellmont High School in Decatur, IN. He is a freshman sports management major.
