Joe Silva (Arlington Heights, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of April 18-24.
Silva was moved into the second spot in the Cougars’ batting order, and he responded by batting a torrid .579 on 11 of 19 at the plate. He scored seven runs in CUC’s five games last week, and his homerun in game one against Rockford University on April 23 opened the scoring as the Cougars earned an important 8-2 victory. The outfielder is batting .383 over 33 games with 5 runs scored, and he leads the team in stolen bases with 21 in 26 attempts.
Silva, the son of Stephen and Alison Silva, is a 2014 graduate of Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, IL. He is a sophomore physical education major.
