Marche Smith (Oak Park, Ill.) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Dec. 13-20.

Smith put up a combined 41 points in the Cougar women’s 1-1 weekend at the Hope College Classic. She scored 20 including her 1,500^th career point in the team’s loss to Division III second-ranked Hope College Dec. 17. Smith came back the following afternoon to score a team-high 21 points in Concordia’s 79-62 win over Kalamazoo College and earn a place on Hope’s All-Tournament team. Smith is averaging 21.4 points through eight games and ranked sixth nationally in scoring in the first NCAA III season rankings.

Smith, the daughter of Charles Bolden and Charlette Smith, is a 2007 graduate of Trinity High School in River Forest, Illinois. She is a senior sports management major.
