Christian Sorensen (Berwyn, IL) of the Cougars’ indoor track and field team is honored for the period of Feb. 24-March 2.
Sorensen ran a career-best effort of 16:16.04 in the 5,000 meters at the NACC Indoor Championships. The mark was his best of the season by 8 ½ seconds. “It was great to see Christian record a result like this in a conference meet,” said head coach Phil Kopinski. “He has continued to work hard over his four years with the program, and this result is a just award for his efforts.”
Sorensen, the son of Robert and Maritza Sorensen, is a 2010 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, IL. He is a senior English major.
