Kayla Konow (Fort Wayne, IN) of the Cougar women's indoor track and field team is honored for the period of Feb. 17-23.
Konow broke two school records at the University of Chicago’s Margaret Bradley Invitational on Feb. 22. She ran the 1,000 meters in 3:08.90, toppling the previous record by 31 seconds. Konow also recorded a 2:23.39 in the 800 meters, beating the previous record by three seconds. She finished second in the 1,000 and third in the 800, helping the Cougar women to fourth place in the 15-team women’s field.
Konow, the daughter of Matt and Amy Konow, is a 2011 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, IN. She is a junior elementary education major.
