April Broska (Belleville, MI) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the period of Jan. 27-Feb. 2.

Broska matched her career high of 28 points in leading the Cougar women to an 84-80 win over Rockford University on Jan. 29 for the team’s first win of the season. She shot 9-14 from the field including a perfect 3-3 from three-point range and connected on seven of eight free throws. Two of her free throws snapped a 79-79 tie with 42 seconds left and gave CUC the lead for good. Broska also collected eight rebounds, three assists and three steals to round out a superb effort.

Broska, the daughter of Jody and Lesa Nielsen, is a 2010 graduate of Lutheran South High School in New Port, MI. She is a senior law & justice/social work major.
