April Broska (Belleville, MI) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Jan. 20-26.
Broska was named to the women's all-tournament team at this year’s Concordia Invitational Tournament. She scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the Jan. 24 game against Concordia University Ann Arbor. Broska followed up the next afternoon with a 19-point, four-rebound effort against Concordia University Wisconsin. She was lauded by CUC head coach Joshua Steffen for her defensive play on both days. Currently, Broska is averaging 11.2 points and 4.8 rebounds through 17 games (16 starts).
Broska, the daughter of Jody and Lesa Nielsen, is a 2010 graduate of Lutheran South High School in New Port, MI. She is a senior law & justice/social work major.
