Abby Pierce (Clinton Township, MI) of the women’s indoor track and field team is honored for the period of Jan. 6-12.

Pierce recorded two solid efforts in the throwing events at the Lewis University Open on Jan. 10. She finished fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.72 meters and sixth in the shot put with a throw of 9.86 meters. Pierce’s effort in the weight throw was a one-meter improvement over her previous best from last season.

Pierce, the daughter of David and Diane Pierce, is a 2012 graduate of Lutheran Northwest High School in Rochester Hills, MI. She is a sophomore exercise science major.
