Christian Sorensen (Berwyn, Ill.) of the men’s cross-country team is honored for the week of Oct. 11-17.

            
Sorensen finished 16^th in the men’s 8K race in a field of 99 runners at the Oct. 16 University of Wisconsin/Parkside Invitational. The field consisted of mostly NCAA Division I and II runners, but Sorensen’s time of 27:17.1 helped the Cougar men to a seventh place finish. Head coach Dave Risch noted, “Christian’s previous best time of 27:00 was on a faster course, and today’s effort on a difficult and hilly course may truly have been his best race of the year.

Sorensen, the son of Robert and Maritza Sorensen, is a 2010 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Ill. He is a freshman elementary education major.
