Antwon James (Forest Park, IL) of the men’s track team is honored for the week of April 29-May 5.
James was named the conference All-Around Athlete of the Year and Freshman Athlete of the Year at the NAC Outdoor Championships on May 3-4. He won the long jump with a leap of 22’ 2 ¼”, placed second in the 100-meter dash at 10.91 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash at 22.16 seconds. Finally, James helped the men’s 4 x 100-meter dash to a fifth-pale finish. He was responsible for 27 of the men’s team points in helping them to a fifth-place finish at the meet.
James, the son of Tommy James and Katherine Harris, is a 2012 graduate of Glenbard East High School in Lombard, Illinois. He is a freshman marketing major.
