Cristina Calabrese (Schiller Park, Ill.) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1.
Calabrese scored 16 points in Concordia’s loss to Hope College Dec. 28 at the RDV Sportsplex D3 Classic in Orlando, Florida. Calabrese hit the biggest basket of the game with a three-pointer at the two-minute mark to give Concordia a 65-61 lead.
A 5’8” forward, Calabrese is averaging 7.8 points through 11 games (three starts) playing nearly 20 minutes per game as the team’s “sixth man.”
Calabrese, the daughter of Tom and Cindy Calabrese, is a 2004 graduate of East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Ill. She is a senior physical education major.
