Issa Avery (Evanston, IL) of the men’s basketball team is honored for the week of Dec. 5-11.

Avery averaged 20.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in the Cougars’ two games last week. He scored 23 points including Concordia’s final four points in the last 1:51 to help the Cougars pull out a 72-69 win over Benedictine University Dec. 7. Avery leads the team in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.5 points and 10.3 rebounds through eight games.

Avery, the son of Derwin Avery and Karen Mosby-Avery, is a 2008 graduate of St. Benedict High School in Chicago. He is a senior exercise science major.
