Symone Speech joins the CUC women's volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2024.
Speech comes to CUC after playing three years of professional volleyball in Italy and Germany from 2019-2022. During the 2021-22 season, Speech helped her team to the German Cup and German Supercup.Â
Prior to her professional career, Speech played collegiate volleyball at Division I Georgetown University where seh was named to the All-BIG EAST Team three separate times. She led Georgetown in blocks all four years and led the BIG EAST Conference in hitting percentage in 2017 with an impressive .377%. Speech ended her collegiate career with a total of 1,358 kills for a career hitting percentage of .334% with a total of 373 blocks. Additionally, Speech was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team for two years.
Speech graduated from Georgetown with a bachelors degree in Psychology and Industrial & Organizational Psychology.
Speech, a native of Oak Park, resides in the area with her husband Jan Ellis.
