Fran Meyer

Fran Scott (Meyer)

Fran Meyer was named the head coach of the Concordia University Chicago women's lacrosse team in January of 2022.

As the head coach of the women's lacrosse program, Meyer has maintained a 12-17 record, while going 8-4 in conference. This included a NACC Championship game in her inaugural season at the helm. Since taking over, Meyer has coached ten NACC All-Conference, two IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll players, a 2022 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll team, and three CSC Academic All-District Team members. She continues to build this women's lacrosse program to take the first NACC Championship in program history.

"I am beyond excited to help build the program here at Concordia," Meyer said. "From the first time I stepped on campus, I knew it would be a great fit for me and the team."

Meyer was a Division I lacrosse player at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., from 2013-2017. While there, she learned to balance a busy schedule that included a full academic schedule and a 40+ hour weekly commitment to training, traveling, and competition. As a senior, Meyer was named a team captain.

Meyer served as the head girl's lacrosse coach at Montini Catholic High School in Lombard, Ill., from 2018-2021. She worked at developing current lacrosse players while also helping bring multi-sport athletes into the game. One of her main objectives was to promote both individual and team growth in skills and sportsmanship.

Prior to her time at Montini, Meyer was a volunteer lacrosse coach at the University of Chicago. From 2017-2018, she worked alongside a new head coach and helped develop students into athletes in order to prepare them for the transition to a Division III program.

From 2013-2020, Meyer served as the assistant coach/co-head coach for Lakeshore Lacrosse in Chicago, Ill. In this role, Meyer used her knowledge and experience as a Division I athlete to train and develop local high school students.

Meyer was a youth head coach at Lakeshore Lacrosse from 2010-2012 before stepping into the assistant role.

"I accepted this position because I feel I can help build the program and allow these young ladies to excel in life on and off the field," Meyer said. "I can't wait to get started with the team in the next couple weeks and to see where we will go this season."

Meyer received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Information Technology from Marquette University in May of 2017.
