Tony Leopold joined the Cougar softball coaching staff as a Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Softball Coach in 2022.
Leopold, as a primary Recruiting Coordinator, travels around the country to find future Cougar softball players.
He bring 10-plus years of softball and baseball experience to the Cougar coaching staff. From 2010-2020 he managed the Elmhurst Emeralds softball organization, where he had nine athletes go on to play at the collegiate level. He also coached and managed travel baseball from 2009-2016 for the Elmhurst Extreme.Â
In the last four years, his organizations have been in the top 10 in the state for USSSA rankings. Additionally, they had a 2019 Nationals third place finish and seven straight Illinois Power League Championships.
Leopold is looking forward to increasing the competitive nature of the CUC softball program.
