Ortiz joined the athletic training staff in the spring of 2024.
Ortiz comes to CUC after serving as an athletic trainer at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. While with the Lakers, she primarily worked with football and women's basketball in her team assignments. She also assisted many student athletes with paperwork and forms to ensure their best care.
She also has worked at multiple other schools as an athletic trainer, including University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's wrestling, Loras College football and women's volleyball, and Hempstead High School. Ortiz spent time at Elmhurst University in an Immersive Clinical Experience capacity with their football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, and basketball teams. With the Bluejays, she was able to perform rehabilitation and communicate with healthcare professionals for these student athletes.
Ortiz has received training outside of athletic health in areas such as ambulance rescue, orthopedics, emergency department, chiropractic, and physical therapy. She has earned multiple certifications and memberships, including a professional rescuer for CPR through the American Red Cross.
Ortiz graduated from Loras College with a bachelor's of science in 2021. She then went on to receive her master's of athletic trainer from Loras College in 2023.
