Ryan McGovern will serve as a graduate assistant coach for the CUC football program in 2016. He will coach the Cougars' running backs.
McGovern hails from West Palm Beach, FL and played his prep ball at Suncoast Community High School and Palm Beach Central High School, He starred as the Most Valuable Player for the defense his freshman year before switching to offense and starting at quarterback the following three years. In 2010, he was honored as a third-team All-Palm Beach County quarterback and selected to the Palm Beach County Football All-Star Game. 
The inspiration for coaching football came from former University of Central Florida head coach and Arizona Cardinals' offensive coordinator Mike Kruczek, McGovern served two years as running backs and defensive backs coach under Kruczek at Trinity Preparatory High School in Winter Park, FL. He has also broken down game film and served as the team's "eye in the sky."
McGovern sees working at the Division III level as "an amazing opportunity. I am excited at the opportunity to work with Randy Awrey here at Concordia."
McGovern earned his BS in exercise science from the University of Central Florida in 2015.
