John Preston joins the Cougars' coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2015 season. He will coach the Cougars' defensive linemen.
Preston comes to CUC from Lake Forest College where he enjoyed a stellar four-year career at linebacker betweem 2011-14. His numbers included 277 total tackles (159 solo, 16 for minus-yardage), five interceptions, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Preston was named first-team All-Midwest Conference in 2013 and was named to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week on Oct. 30. In 2014, he was the Foresters' Most Valuable Player and was selected to the first-team All-Midwest Conference South Division.
A native of Sanbornton, NH who attended Tabor High School, Preston earned his BA in history from Lake Forest in 2015. He will pursue his Master's in secondary education at CUC.
