Concordia University Chicago Athletics

Chase Hankins was named the 21st Head Football Coach for Concordia University Chicago on February 7, 2024.

Hankins first joined the CUC Football coaching staff as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach in 2022, before earning the Interim Head Coach title in the fall of 2023. 

In his first season at the helm, Hankins picked up offensive momentum as the team boasted the second most efficient passing percentage in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), a significant increase from the season prior. Hankins has coached seven NACC All-Conference athletes, with sophomore Wesley Jackson picking up a first team nod in the 2024 season. 

As a part of the CUC football coaching staff, Hankins primary responsibilities fall under game-planning, play design, and film and data analysis for the offense throughout the season. He also works as the equipment and travel coordinator, ensuring all of the equipment is managed and budget correctly, as well as ensuring all travel operations are met properly. His recruiting areas consist of Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Wyoming, Arkansas, California, and Texas.

Prior to coming to CUC, Hankins was a Wide Receivers and Tight Ends Coach at another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) institution, Aurora University. While there, he coached five All-Conference selections and helped coach the second highest passing offense in the country. Also at Aurora, he taught as an Adjunct Sports Management Professor in Introduction to Coaching Philosophies. 

Before being promoted to full-time, Hankins was a graduate assistant at Aurora, where he was an defensive and then, offensive, Graduate Assistant. 

Originally from Rockford, Michigan, Hankins played collegiately as a quarter back at Hope College and Elmhurst College. 

Hankins earned his degree in Sports Management from Elmhurst College in 2018. He then went on to receive his graduate degree in Masters of Business Administration from Aurora Unviersity in 2021.
