Bo Flowers

Bo Flowers has been a part of the Concordia University Chicago football coaching staff since the fall of 2023 as the Defensive Coordinator & Inside Linebackers.

Flowers comes from the University of Chicago, where he was a part of the coaching staff for five year. He served as the Co-Special Teams Coordinator in 2022 and the Defensive Backs Coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator from 2014-17. While with the Maroons, he helped coach a First Team All-American and won the UAA title, along with UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.

In 2021, Flowers was the  Cornerbacks Coach at Western Illinois University. Previously, he served as Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach at Lawrence University for three seasons.

Previously, Flowers was the defensive graduate assistant coach at Eastern Michigan University for two years.

As a collegiate football player, Flowers played at the University of Illinois from 2007-09 and Illinois State University in 2010. As a Redbird, he was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team.

Outside of football, Flowers was a dominating force in baseball. He was a fifth round draft pick in the Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers. He was able to play four years in the minors, both for the Tigers and the Chicago Cubs.

Prior to his accolades in college, Flowers was voted Chicago Sun-Times Male Athlete of the Year in 2002.

Flowers earned his bachelor’s degree in Community Health from the University of Illinois in 2010 and his master’s degree in Health and Human Services from Eastern Michigan in 2014.
