Karla Hanson steps in as the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) in the Fall of 2022. Hanson also stands as the baseball team Faculty Mentor.
Hanson is an expert in the areas of clinical exercise physiology and sports nutrition, she also directs the Exercise & Sport Science Laboratory, engages in research within the lab, and works with athletic teams on sports evaluations and nutrition programming. Prior to her time at Concordia, Hanson worked as a clinical exercise physiologist at Rush University Medical Center and Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center. Additionally, she has extensive experience in research, with varied interests, including exercise rehabilitation in chronic disease and disability, and sports performance. She has been a member of Concordia's faculty since 2016.
Hanson graduated with her BS and MS from Benedictine University and her PhD from Concordia University Chicago.
