Garry Maynard joins the CUC Baseball coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant in the fall of 2023.
As a part of the CUC coaching staff, he will be assisting with the outfielders and hitters to improve their performance.
Maynard, a four-year CUC baseball alumni, comes to the staff with a plethora of accolades. As an outfielder, Maynard was a career .333 average hitter, amassing 153 hits, 128 RBIs, 25 home runs, and a .578 slugging percentage. In the CUC record books, he is in the top ten for career home runs. In his senior season, he became third all-time for slugging percentage with a .719, home runs with 13, and hit by pitches with 23, which occured in his sophomore season. He also led the nation in 2021 with hit by pitches. Maynard earned accolades such as NACC Scholar-Athlete, NACC All-Conference Second and First Team, CSC Academic All-District Team, and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Third Team.
Outside of his time at CUC, the Oswego, Illinois native has been the head coach of the Oak Park Pack for the past two years.
Maynard received his bachelor's degree in Sports Management from CUC in 2023. He will be completing his master's in Exercise Science: Sports Performance at CUC.
