RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- After helping to lead the Cougars to a 3-1 week of play,
Brandon Mahler (Vernon Hills, Ill.) secured his second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) player of the week award for the season.
Mahler led the charge on the week totaling a .647 batting average and a 1.118 slugging percentage after going 11-for-17 in total. In the game one win over Dominican, Mahler went three-for-four at the plate with two RBIs and two runs before going on to go two-for-three at the plate in game two with one RBI. In the dominant 17-3 win over Lakeland, Mahler went four-for-five at the plate with four RBIs after launching two home runs in the game. In the final game of the week, Mahler went two-for-five while tacking on two runs of his own. In the field, Mahler had a clean week with 15 total putouts and no errors. Mahler now leads the NACC in batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, RBIs, and home runs. In addition to his conference rankings, Mahler ranks third nationally in slugging percentage, fifth nationally in total home runs, 16th nationally in batting average and RBIs,
