Countryside, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago men's tennis team started off the new season with a home non-conference match against University of Dubuque. The Cougars fought hard but ultimately fell 6-1.
Doubles

In the No. 1 doubles match, Andres Villangran (El Paso, Texas) and Sam Smith (Munster, Ind.) put up a fight, but fell 6-3.

August Barnes (Sodus, Mich.) and Collin Dickey (Frisco, Texas) lost 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

In the third doubles match Kyle Pelzek (Hales Corner, Wis.) and Kevin Bullens (River Forest, Ill.) won their match 6-7.
Singles

Dubuque dominated the Cougars, winning five of the six matches.

One Cougar picked up a point in their singles match in Bullens, who lost his first set 6-1, but won the second one 6-3, forcing a tiebreaker to win the match 10-7.

Reynaldo Leal (Weslaco, Texas) and Smith fought hard but were each ultimately defeated 6-1 in both sets.
