DE PERE, WIS. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Cougars took on St. Norbert College (SNC) in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) women's tennis matchup, competing across three doubles and six singles matches. Despite a determined effort from the Cougars, St. Norbert secured victories in all nine matches.
DOUBLES
In No. 1 doubles, Amelia Engelman and Amirah Shakir battled, earning four games before falling 6-4.
At No. 2 doubles, Brianna Bentz and Hannah Upole fought through their match, securing three games in a 6-3 loss.
In No. 3 doubles, Abigail Krueger and Sarah Gustafson continued to compete, earning two games before falling 6-2.
SINGLES
At No. 2 singles, Engelman delivered one of CUC's most competitive performances, pushing through in the opening set before narrowly dropping it 7-5. Engelman continued to battle in the second set but ultimately fell 6-2.
Gustafson showed persistence at No. 6 singles, earning two games in the second set before falling 6-1, 6-2.
Bentz, Shakir, Upole, and Krueger continued to compete across the singles lineup against a strong St. Norbert squad. Bentz fell 6-0, 6-1 to Domnick at No. 1, while Shakir dropped her No. 3 match, 6-1, 6-1. Upole battled at No. 4 singles, and Krueger faced a tough opponent at No. 5, with both Cougars continuing to fight through their matches.
Despite the final results, the Cougars gained valuable experience and continued to show determination throughout the matchup.
