NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field team traveled to Naperville, Ill. for the Heenan Invitational, hosted by North Central College (NCC). The Cougars shined, securing multiple personal records.
Notable Performances
In 4x400m relay, the Cougars ran two teams. The team consisting of
Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.),
Kamren Hannah (El Paso, Texas),
Nathaniel Hernandez (Harwood Heights, Ill.), and
Kyle Knutsen (Sterling, Ill.) finished third with a time of 3:34.42. The team consisting of
Tremain Dockery (Chicago, Ill.),
Jordyn Boatman (Elmwood Park, Ill.),
Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.), and
Julian Switzer (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) finished fifth with a time of 3:42.40.
Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.) took fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.50.
Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) placed seventh with a time of 53.22.
William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa) ran a time of 10:14.61 to finish tenth in the 3000m.
Boatman set a personal best leap of 6.72m in the long jump, finishing sixth.
In the high jump,
Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) recorded a mark of 1.65m to take ninth.
Cougar Personal Records
Knight and Taylor set personal bests in the 60m. Knight ran a 7.15 while Taylor ran a 7.57.
Julien Saltos (Chicago, Ill.) ran a 2:23.57 in the 800m.
In the mile,
Nathaniel Boksa and
Cosby Lux (Landgrove, Vt.) set personal bests of 5:07.24 and 5:13.39, respectively.
Eli Likens (Richland, Mich.) recorded a mark of 10.96m in the shot put.
