RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- After picking up their second consecutive win of the season, the Concordia University Chicago football team picks up another win on the week with
Joron Brown (St. Joseph, Mich.) earning the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Offensive Player of the Week.
In the Cougars' first road game of the season against Manchester University, Brown led on the ground with a gain for 129 yards with no loss on the day, including three touchdowns and a 53-yard rush. With his three touchdowns in the game, he jumps to the top of this season's standings in the NACC for single-game touchdowns. He also jumped to the top in single-game points and longest rush after his 53 yard rush. After this week's performance, Brown also jumped up to second overall in the conference in total rushing yards and points per game. Brown also picked up some yards in the air with two receptions for 28 yards, including a season-high 25-yard reception.
Brown and the Cougars will be back in action on Saturday for their first conference game of the season as they host St. Norbert College on Saturday, September 20th with a 1:00 pm kickoff. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
