WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track & field team took a trip up to Wisconsin today to compete in the Green & White Invite, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. Two Cougars secured gold, with a multitude of other top ten finishes.
Notable Performances
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) took gold in the 200m with a time of 21.80. He also set a personal record in the 100m, running a time of 10.87, for a fourth-place finish.
- The other Cougar to win their event was Jamel Goins (Columbus, Ohio). He ran a time of 57.57 in the 400m hurdles.
- In the high jump, Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) recorded a bronze medal finish with a mark of 1.78m (5-10).
- Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) placed sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 41.04m (134-8).
- Also in the field, Brandon Montford (Fairburn, Ga.) finished seventh with a mark of 12.22m (40-1.25) in the shot put.
- Two Cougars placed in the top 10 of the long jump. Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) and Julian Switzer (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) finished eighth and tenth, respectively, with leaps of 6.06m (19-10.75) and 5.78m (18-11.75).
Cougar Personal Records
- Switzer ran a PR of 23.48 in the 200m.
- Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.) threw for 27.25m (89-5) in the javelin throw.
- In the 1500m, Cameron Mitchell (Racine, Wis.) ran a time of 4:42.25.
- With a mark of 28.45m (93-4), Wykhir Jones (Milwaukee, Wis.) set a personal best in the hammer throw.

The Cougars are back in action next week with two meets. They will compete at the Elmhurst Twilight Invitational, hosted by Elmhurst University on Friday April 25.
