NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's track and field team kicked off the outdoor season today at the First Chance Invite, hosted by North Central College.
- Ariel Martinez (Berwyn, Ill.) set a personal best in the 3000m steeplechase. Her time of 12:31.05 secured her a fifth place finish.
- Madalyn Smock (Poplar Grove, Ill.) and Breanna Walters (Poplar Grove, Ill.) both competed in the javelin throw. Smock recorded a mark of 22.58m (74-1) while Walters recorded a mark of 21.44m (70-4).
- Smock also registered a mark of 26.96m (88-5) in the hammer throw.
The rest of the Cougars compete tomorrow for day two of the First Chance Invite at North Central College.
