- Three outs off four batters would hand things right back over to the Cougar offense where a walk paired with a hit by pitch would put two runners on base. Yashion Boswell (Lynwood, Ill.) would single and score one while a stolen base from the senior would put runners on second and third. A single from Sperando would score another while moving runners to the corners with only one out. A bunt from Hickman would put runners on first and second while scoring a run. A single from Dorsch would move runners while yet another sac fly from Kasik would score run number four of the inning and put the Cougars up 5-0.
- The score would sit stagnant until the bottom of the third where the Green Knights would put one run up off one hit and one error, but the Cougars would answer back in the top of the sixth. HOW IT HAPPENED

- The game wouldn't see another score until the top of the sixth when three consecutive singles from Kasik, Buckley, and Tyler Krater (Phoenix, Ariz.) would load the bases for Owens. A single to the outfield from Owens would score two and give the Cougars their first lead of the game. A fielder's choice and error from the Green Knights would leave space for one more run and the Cougars would head to the bottom of the sixth with the 4-1 lead.
- With two full innings and only 12 total batters, the Cougars would head to the top of the ninth where a leadoff double for Owens would eventually move to third after a sac bunt from Boswell. A sac fly from Sperando would score Owens and give the Cougars their last run of the day.
