Fairless, Oas, and Shelton Take Gold at Tadd Metzger Invite

KENOSHA, Wis. - The women's track and field team traveled to Kenosha, Wis. to compete at the Tadd Metzger Invite and Multis. The squad pounced on their competition and finished fourth of 13 teams. The Cougars had three athletes take gold, along with many other top-10 finishes.

Notable Performances

Izzy Fairless (Royal Oak, Mich.) took first in the 1000m run, setting a personal record of 3:25.69.
In the 600m, Tegan Oas (Shingle Springs, Calif.) secured gold with a personal best time of 1:48.54.
The Cougars' third gold performance came from Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.) in the 55m hurdles, where she set a personal best time of 8.59 in the preliminaries and secured first in the finals. She also took second in the 200m, with a time of 27.68.
In the 5000m, Ariel Martinez secured second.
Noor Sammour claimed two top-10 finishes. She finished third in the high jump with a leap of 1.49m (4' 10.5") and placed 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 9.59m (31' 5.75").
In the 1000m, Breanna Walters (Poplar Grove, Ill.) set a personal best time of 3:44.22 in the 1000m for a third place finish.
Lydia Anderson (Carpentersville, Ill.) finished fifth in the 3000m.
With a personal best leap of 5.21m (17' 1.25") in the long jump, Kirsten Bockhorst (Union, Mo.) finished third.
Addi McKee took eighth in the 600m and set a personal record of 2:07.99.

Cougar Personal Records

Velda Ndang set a personal best mark of 11.11m (36' 5.5") in the shot put.
Abbigail Placido ran a personal record time of 2:32.69 in the 600m.
