CHICAGO, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's track & field team at the Margaret Bradley Invite, hosted by the University of Chicago. The Cougars performed strong in their last meet before conference.
Notable Performances
- Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.) ran to a third place finish in the 60m hurdles, with a time of 9.27. She also finished eighth in the 200m, with a time of 27.36.
- In the shot put, Velda Ndang (Plainfield, Ill.) recorded a mark of 10.49m (34-5) to take third.
- Ariel Martinez (Berwyn, Ill.) finished in fifth in the 3000m with a time of 11:29.30.
- Setting a personal record of almost 40 seconds, Izzy Fairless (Royal Oak, Mich.) ran a time of 11:29.30 in the 3000m to take sixth.
- The Cougars had two strong finishes in the high jump. Harmonie Cooper (Chicago, Ill.) set a personal best mark of 1.48m (4-10.25) for a fourth-place finish. Noor Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) followed in fifth with the same mark.
- With a leap of 4.69m (15-4.75), Aniyah Isom (Chicago, Ill.) placed sixth in the long jump.
- Madalyn Smock (Poplar Grove, Ill.) set a personal best mark of 10.09m (33-1.25) in the weight throw to take sixth.
Cougar Personal Records
- Abbigail Placido set a personal best of 3:30.20 in the 800m.
- In the long jump, Ari Koepp (Belle Plaine, Minn.) leapt 4.56m (14-11.5) in the long jump.
The Cougars' next meet will be the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. The meet will be held at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wis.
