NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago men's track & field team competed at the Chicagoland Indoor Championship, hosted by North Central College, where there were multiple top 10 finishes and PR's.
Notable Performances
- In the Distance Medley Relay, Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.), William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa), Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.), and Nathaniel Boksa, teamed up to finished third with a time of 12:00.4.
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.), Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.), Jamel Goins (Columbus, Ohio), and Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) teamed up together in the 4x400m relay to finish second with a time of 3:25.76.
- Sanchez took fifth in the 400m with a time of 51.09.
- In the pole vault, Dayton Merli (Union Mills, Ind.) and Scarnato took fourth and seventh respectively, with marks of 3.53m and 2.48m.
- Three Cougars finished in the top 10 of the high jump. Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) took second (1.73m), Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) took eighth (1.53m), and Scarnato finished ninth (1.48m).
- In the open flight of the high jump, Knight tied his personal best of 1.88m to take fifth.
Personal Records
Cardwell set a new personal best of 9.81 in the 60m hurdles.
In the 800m, Depakakibo ran a personal best time of 2:06.54.
In the field,
Wykhir Jones set a new personal record of 10.97m in the shot put.
