4x400 Relay Team Goes Bronze at Windy City Rumble

CHICAGO, ILL. -- The Concordia University Chicago men's track and field team hit the road to University of Chicago for the 2025 Windy City Rumble, where a number of top-ten finishes stole the show in addition to a multitude of personal records.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

The 4x400m relay team consisting of Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas), Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.), Jamel Goins (Columbus, Ohio), and Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) secured third place with a time of 3:31.59.
Knight added two more top-ten finishes on the day with his 6th place finish in the 200m and his 4th place finish and PR in the high jump with a mark of 1.88m.
Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) found a 4th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.12m.
Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) picked up a sixth place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.78m.
Dayton Merli (Union Mills, Ind.) picked up an 8th place finish in the pole vault with a height of 3.66m.
Gael Arroyo (Cicero, Ill.) rounded out the top-ten finishes with a 9th place finish in the 1200m with a time of 3:40.32.

COUGAR PERSONAL RECORDS

Scarnato tacked on a PR int he 60m hurdles with a time of 10.47.
Merli picked up a PR in the 200m with a time of 26.31 in addition to his top ten finish in the pole vault.
Cameron Mitchell (Racine, Wis.) added two PRs on the day in the 200m and the 400m with times of 27.10 and 58.58, respectively.
Goins picked up a PR in the 400m with a time of 53.80.
Randy Contreras (San Antonio, Texas) lowered his time in the 400m by more than three seconds to pick up a nw PR at 55.32.
Nathaniel Boksa (Norridge, Ill.) picked up a new PR in the 800m with a time of 2:24.81.
CJ Morris (Douglasville, Ga.) picked up a new PR in the shot put with a distance of 11.87, throwing a full meter further than his previous best.
Eli Likens (Richland, Mich.) picked up a new PR in the weight throw with a distance of 9.53, throwing a full meter and a half further than his previous best.
Travon Thomas (Wauchula, Fla.) contributed to the PR party with a new PR in the weight throw with a distance of 12.01.
