Rockford, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Cougars traveled to Rockford, Ill. to face off against the Regents of Rockford University. After some back-and-forth gameplay, the Cougars were able to obtain their second conference win, beating the Regents with a final score of 57-54.

Here's What Happened
First Half
Vic Garrett (Chicago, Ill.) and Tommy Zimmer (Steger, Ill.) started off the scoring for the half with layups, beginning the Cougar attack early. The Regents finally made their way on the scoreboard with a dunk, but Williams helped the Cougars break 10 points. Williams landed a quick three-point jumper, putting seven points under his belt, 13-2. Matthew Guthrie (Carlyle, Ill.) was able to get in a layup, putting the Cougars up by nine points. After three minutes passed with no points, Lowery came in with a jumper. By the half's second timeout, the Cougars remained in the lead, 23-18. Williams came in with his second three-pointer of the afternoon. Brown had put up a layup, keeping the Regents in an eight-point deficit. A Regent landed a three-pointer, putting the Regents within one of the Cougars, 31-30. With 0:22 remaining, the teams were tied up 33-33 before the Regents took their first lead of the game. The Regents remained in the lead, going into halftime 34-33.

Second Half
The Regents began the scoring for the half with a layup, keeping the Cougars down by three. Brown was able to get a jumper in, cutting into the Regent lead. Williams tied up the game once more with a jumper. The Regents tried to switch that up, but Jacob Robinson (Saint Louis, Mo) was able to put up a three-pointer, keeping the tie. The teams continued the battle for the top spot as Brown got a three-pointer in, 45-45. Ryker Johnson (Fond du Lac, Wis.) landed a free throw, putting the Cougars within one, 46-47. The Regents went on to have a 5-0 run against the Cougars before William's free throws broke it up. Lowery had put up a quick layup, bringing the Cougars within three. With 1:22 remaining, the Cougars managed a three-point lead. The Cougars were able to defeat the Regents with a final score of 57-54.
