River Forest, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Cougars welcomed the Eagles of Edgewood University to see who would prosper in both teams' first NACC game. After some physical gameplay, the Cougars were able to defeat the Eagles, picking up their first conference win with a final score of 63-56.

Here's What Happened
First Half
Garrett began the scoring for the half with a hookshot jumper, followed by a couple jumpers from Williams. Willard joined the game and was able to put up a layup off of an Eagle turnover, getting the Cougars to double digits. After five minutes of no points, an Eagle finally broke the scoring drought for Edgewood. Aaron Brown (Joliet, Ill.) managed to make his mark on the scoreboard with a jumper, quickly followed by another jumper, 14-8. Williams came in with a beautiful three-pointer, giving the Cougars a nine-point advantage. Sebastian Hill (Decatur, Ill.) and Ryker Johnson (Fond du Lac, Wis.) came in afterwards with layups of their own, 22-8. Williams managed his second three-pointer of the night, extending the lead by 17 points. The Eagles fought back, but Lowery had put his foot down with a layup. Andreas Louloudis (Thessaloniki, Greece) was able to get in a layup, 32-16. With 0:47 remaining, Matthew Guthrie (Carlyle, Ill.) was able to get a layup in, securing the Cougars's 13-point lead. The Cougars kept their lead as they went into halftime, 37-24.

Second Half
The Eagles started off the scoring of the half with a layup. Tommy Zimmer (Steger, Ill.) made his way onto the scoreboard with a tip-in layup, 39-28. Lowery and Garrett came in with layups as well, breaking 40 points for the Cougars. The Eagles managed to get themselves within five of the Cougars, but a layup by Garrett helped to keep things up. Willard was subbed back into the game and made it worthwhile with a jumper, 51-42. A jumper by Williams kept the Cougars in the lead, but a layup from an Eagle had put Edgewood within four. A three-point jumper from the Eagles had put them within one of the Cougars; Willard and Williams put up a fight to keep the lead, 57-54. The Cougars were able to pick up their first conference win, defeating the Eagles with a final score of 63-56.
