RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's tennis team continued their season with a doubleheader this afternoon, first with a hard conference matchup against St. Norbert College, followed by a non-conference match against Ripon College. The Cougars battled hard, but came up just short, falling 6-1 in both matches.

Match One: St. Norbert
Doubles
- The Cougars struggled to find rhythm in their doubles play, as St. Norbert flowed through winning two out of three matchups and taking the doubles point.
- The No. 3 doubles pairing of Arriyanna Amison (Dolton, Ill.) and Courtneye Schneider (Plainfield, Ill.) were able to secure a well-earned 6-2 victory.
- Number one duo, Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) and Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.) put up a good fight in their match, falling just short, 7-5, while the number two pair, Kathleen Castillo (Elmwood Park, III.) and Hannah Upole (Hinkley, Ohio), was shutout in their match.

Singles
- Engelman secured the Cougars' lone point of the match, securing victory at No. 1 singles with set scores of 6-4 and 6-2.
- However, St. Norbert continued showcasing their strong suits in single plays, sweeping the other five matches in straight sets.
- Shakir was hoping to create a struggle for the opponent but fell short 6-3, 6-1.
- Upole, Amison, and Schneider were each able to secure at least one game win, but couldn't overcome the Green Knights' dominate play, and fell in their respective matches.

Match Two: Ripon
Doubles
- Schneider and Amison picked up their second victory of the day, defeating the Redhawks, 6-2, at third doubles.
- However, the Redhawks were able to battle strong in doubles play, and take the doubles point, winning the other two matches.
- Number one duo, Engelman and Shakir, as well as number two duo, Castillo and Upole, were unable to gain momentum and fell 6-1 and 6-2, in their respective matches.

Singles
- Engelman picked up the solo victory against Ripon. In a hard-fought battle of skill, Engelman outplayed her opponent in two sets, 6-4, 6-3, to secure the point.
- Schneider did not go down easy at sixth singles, falling 7-5, 6-3.
- Shakir picked up three game wins at second singles but ultimately dropped the match 6-1, 6-2.
- Amison picked up game wins at No. 5 singles but lost the match in two 6-1 sets.
