Cougars Shut Out by Dominican in Afternoon Match

River Forest, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's soccer team traveled a short distance to Dominican University for an afternoon match. After some rough gameplay, the Stars swept the Cougars 4-0.
 
 
Inside the Box:  
First Half
  • Both teams started off the half by going back and forth, constantly blocking each other's shots and stealing the ball away.
  • The Cougars attempted multiple shots throughout the half, trying their best to score; Velasquez stood out with his two attempted goals.
  • Schultz held his own for the Cougars as he came in with three close saves against the Stars.
 
Second Half
  • In the 50th minute, the Stars were the first on the scoreboard with a goal into the low center of the goal, pushing them forward 1-0.
  • Kale responded with a shot on goal, but it was saved by the Stars' goalkeeper.
  • In the 53rd minute, the Stars moved up to 2-0 after a Star scored another goal into the net.
  • In the 58th minute, the Stars, once again, made another goal, pushing the Cougars further back.
  • Moresco tried his luck to put the Cougars on the board but had his shot also saved in the 66th minute.
  • In the 84th minute, the Stars scored their fourth and final goal, leaving the Cougars at a loss of 4-0.
 
What's Next
This concludes the 2025 men's soccer season. The team finished 1-15-2 overall, with a NACC record of 0-11-1. Men's soccer would love to thank all of the fans for their continued support throughout the season and look forward to seeing everyone next year for the 2026 season.
